The British Liver Trust is the only national charity working to reduce the impact of all adult liver conditions in the UK through information, support and research.

Our mission is to promote liver health, help adults with liver conditions and to prevent liver disease. We strive to secure a greater recognition of the growing burden of liver disease on UK society, and to understand and disseminate information on the major factors that cause liver damage. We strive to improve the level of services that are provided for people with liver conditions, in diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

The Hepatitis C Trust is the national UK charity for hepatitis C and has been operating since 2001. We were founded and are now led and run by people with personal experiences of hepatitis C and almost all of our Board, staff and volunteers either have hepatitis C or have had it and have cleared it after treatment. Our vision is that no-one dies from this preventable and treatable disease and ultimately it is all but eradicated in the UK. Our mission is to support, inform and empower people who have hepatitis C and drive improvements in prevention, diagnosis and access to treatment.

Our goals are :

  1. To increase awareness of hepatitis C and reduce the level of stigmatisation
  2. To promote prevention, diagnosis and access to treatment
  3. To build a stronger community of people living with hepatitis C
  4. To increase access to appropriate support for people living with hepatitis C
