The British Liver Trust is the only national charity working to reduce the impact of all adult liver conditions in the UK through information, support and research.
Our mission is to promote liver health, help adults with liver conditions and to prevent liver disease. We strive to secure a greater recognition of the growing burden of liver disease on UK society, and to understand and disseminate information on the major factors that cause liver damage. We strive to improve the level of services that are provided for people with liver conditions, in diagnosis, treatment and prevention. |

We were founded and are now led and run by people with personal experiences of hepatitis C and almost all of our Board, staff and volunteers either have hepatitis C or have had it and have cleared it after treatment. Our vision is that no-one dies from this preventable and treatable disease and ultimately it is all but eradicated in the UK. The PBC Foundation was founded in 1996 by Collette Thain, MBE. Currently we send our information to 65 countries around the world as well as have international visits to our website. We have information leaflets for Health Professionals as well as patients. We also have a compendium, “Living with PBC”, which is a comprehensive guide to living with PBC, designed to answer any question a PBC patient may ask. We host conferences where world eminent PBC specialists speak about PBC to our members, as well as workshops designed to aid self-management on a day-to-day level. |

Liver4Life (L4L) is a charity dedicated to the prevention and early detection of liver conditions, liver disease and liver cancer. L4L offers education, information and support to any individual affected by a liver condition, at any stage of their disease, in the United Kingdom. Liver4Life also campaigns on behalf of all people with a liver condition to improve their care, their treatment and their support services. |
