The Association of Liver Patients Care (ALPC in Dakhlya- Egypt) under the head of Dr. Gamal Shiha, organized a public awareness campaign to commemorate this year’s World Hepatitis Day (July 28). The campaigning was organized in Dakhlya and was extensively covered by the local media.
For the awareness campaigns, ALPC developed banners and posters as provided by the World Hepatitis Alliance. To raise awareness among the general public, promotional T-shirts were also developed and distributed to enthusiastic supporters. What is more, over 400 hygenic kits were disseminated during the campaign along with flyers and other informational materials.
In support of the initiative, the Egyptian Liver Research Institute And Hospital “ELRIAH” offered free testing for HCV and HBV during on July 28. The educational video on hepatitis A, B and C, developed by the Euopean Liver Patients’ Association was also showcasted to the public. Special attention was given to early diagnosis, regular screening and prevention.
